Cancellation Policy
Cancellations are accepted without penalty up to 48 hours before 4 PM on the day of arrival. Cancellations within the 48-hour day cancellation policy are subject to the first night's room and tax. No refunds. Please be aware that attempting to modify a reservation within the 48-hour cancellation period will be considered a cancellation. Please note that if you have booked your stay with a special offer or package, the cancellation policy may differ from our standard policy. The specific cancellation terms and conditions of your offer or package will apply. These terms are provided when booking and can also be found in your booking confirmation email. If you booked with a third-party site, you will be subjected to their cancellation policy, that was agreed upon at the time of booking. 

Pet Policy
No pets are permitted on the property. Only service animals that are defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) are permitted and must be under the handler's control at all times. Emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals are not considered service animals under the ADA, and we do not allow these on-premises." Failure to follow this policy will lead to an assessment of $150 and the potential to be asked to vacate the property and be ineligible for any refund.

Wellness Checks
Your well-being is our top priority, and we want to ensure your stay with us is safe. In line with our commitment to providing a comfortable stay, we occasionally conduct wellness checks on rooms that have displayed a "Do Not Disturb" sign for an extended period exceeding 48 hours. Please be assured that your privacy is of utmost importance to us, and our staff members are trained to perform these checks with discretion and respect your personal space.

Smoking Policy
Our hotel is a smoke-free establishment. Smoking in a designated non-smoking area, such as a guest room, is subject to a $250 assessment.

How can I get the best rate?
Shem Creek Inn guarantees that the rates found through our official website are the lowest compared to other online sources for same-day searches. If you find a better rate, don't hesitate to contact us, and we will gladly match it upon verification. 

What is the hotel's cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to arrival by 4 PM. Guests who do not cancel within this time will be charged for a one-night stay with tax. 

Do you accept credit cards?
The Shem Creek Inn accepts all major credit cards. 

What time is check-in?
Check-in is any time after 3 PM, and checkout is by 11 AM. Late checkout fees may apply. When available, early check-in time will be extended with no extra fee. Full payment is taken at check-in. 

I'm under 21. Can I still make a reservation?
The Shem Creek Inn requires guests to be 21 years or older or accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperon. 

Can I book a specific room?
It is difficult to guarantee a specific room number or floor during high occupancy periods, although we make every effort to grant special requests. 

What are the hours for the swimming pool?
The swimming pool is open from 9 AM - sunset each day. Night swimming is not permitted.

Do you have a restaurant or bar onsite?
No, but we are surrounded by several great restaurants and bars on Shem Creek.

Do you offer breakfast?
We offer a grab-and-go breakfast onsite as our hotel does not have a kitchen or restaurant. Breakfast is served daily from 6:30 to 9:30 AM.

Can I sit on the pool deck at night if the pool is closed?
The pool deck is open from 8 AM - 10 PM every day. All access to the pool deck is locked at 10 PM.

Am I able to dock my boat in front of the hotel?
The docks and slips are privately owned, so we cannot accommodate any boats.

Do you have a fitness studio onsite?
No, we do not have a gym in the hotel.

What kind of coffee machines are in the guest rooms?
We offer individual Keruig Coffee machines in each room and provide K-Cups.

Can I bring my trailer or boat to park in the parking lot?
Due to the limited parking space, we do not allow RVs, buses, trailers, jet skis, boats, or campers to park in our lot so we can reserve the spaces for our guests' cars.

I am looking to go on a cruise. Do you provide parking if we stay with you the night before leaving for a cruise?
We cannot provide overnight parking for anyone not currently staying with us at the hotel.

Does the hotel have a shuttle?
We do not have a hotel shuttle. Uber, Lyft, and taxis are available in the area.

Do you have any meeting or event space?
No, but some of the restaurants on Shem Creek may be able to accommodate your group, depending on the size, which we are happy to recommend.

How many rooms are on the property?
We have 51 rooms, with all rooms having a private balcony.
