Charleston Waterfront Hotels and Banana Boat Rides!

Summer is here and nothing is better during the summer than hitting the beach. One of the best reasons to vacation in the Charleston area is that not only do they have a gorgeous beachfront; they have tons of amazing attractions and activities to enjoy too! Stay at a beautiful oceanfront hotel near Charleston and enjoy everything the area has to offer!

Take a spin on a banana boat during a family vacation to Mt. Pleasant. Banana boat rides are one of best ways to have fun on the waterway. Banana boat rides aren’t unlike whitewater rafting. Passengers will ride a giant inflatable boat that looks similar to a banana. The boat is then towed behind a jet ski at high speeds and passengers have to hang on while they are being whipped around the ocean. Make sure to wear a bathing suit as many passengers end up in the water (don’t worry they will give riders a lifejacket).

Banana boat rides are fun for the whole family and last about thirty minutes. The Banana boats hold about six people and a minimum of three people are required for a ride. Head over to Tidal Wave Watersports at the Isle of Palms marina to get hooked up for this fun ride. Tidal Wave Watersports is open year-round from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and riding the Banana Boat costs about $25 per person.

Stay at the Shem Creek Inn, a quiet Mt. pleasant resort, for the perfect vacation to the Charleston area.
